I just love this bird from Inkadinkado, so I reached for it again today for this card! And I'm doing a happy dance because I had time to complete the Sketch Challenge on SCS today! I used to do the challenges all the time, especially the Color, Sketch, and Limited Supply challenges because they're always posted early and I could do them before I left for work. I don't know why I've been lazier about them lately... I still have the same amount of time in the mornings but I guess I'm up too late most nights and have too much trouble getting my act together in the mornings!
While I was browsing through my Google Reader this morning, I discovered that Kristina Werner has a Color Inspiration Challenge on her blog today, so I used the colors from her challenge on my card, too!
I ran out of Certainly Celery grosgrain quite some time ago, and since I really don't buy any Stampin' Up stuff anymore since I started my new job, I was trying to find a good substitute. I ran across this dotted grosgrain one day, and thought "hmmm???" and so I took it home and was thrilled to see how nicely it matched! I'm also down to scraps of Certainly Celery cardstock, so luckily I had enough of a piece today to run through my new Cuttlebug embossing folder to put on this card!
Stamps: Birds Galore (Inkadinkado), Sentiments 1 (Impression Obsession); Cardstock: Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, Close to Cocoa, Whisper White, designer paper (Stampin' Up!); Inks: So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, Close to Cocoa (Stampin' Up!), Versamark (Tsukineko); Accessories: Floral Fantasy embossing folder (ProvoCraft), brads (Making Memories), ribbon (Morex), scalloped rectangle (Nestabilities), clear embossing powder (Ranger), paper piercing tool, sponges, dimensional adhesives (craft supply).
Here is a close-up of the bird, raised up on dimensionals.
Thanks for stopping by!

This is very pretty! That bird looks like it may match the one from SU - are they long lost relatives? Ha ha! I love the color blocking, everyone makes it look so easy, but I just can't get it to look right on my projects! Great job!
