The Stamp Simply challenge this week is one you're going to love! Here are the details, taken directly from Sharon's blog...
"In celebration of my Blog’s soon to be 1st Anniversary, and the 1st Anniversary of this challenge the week following, we are doing something a bit different, and fun, for the next 6 weeks. Our next 6 challenges will be centered around each of the Stamp Simply Team members. And this week we are highlighting Julie Koerber who is Out to Impress – and VERY impressive she is — and even more than impressive, JULIE IS HOT!!! And that’s the name of this week’s challenge.
Yes, JULIE IS HOT, HOT, HOT!!! RED HOT!!! When I think of Julie’s work, I immediately think of red, a color she uses often, and oh so well!!! I also think of large, spacious layouts, crisp and striking color combinations, minimal but absolutely perfect layering, and exquisitely beautiful and perfectly placed embellishements, never overdone!
Today’s challenge is two-pronged:
-
Make a card with the primary color being red (you can add any other colors you like).
-
Use Julie’s style as inspiration for your work. You need not CASE her, just let her beautiful and classy style inspire you. Julie has made a new card for us, and she has also chosen 5 of her previous cards to showcase as inspriation pieces that will convey her style, and you can see them here."
So there you have it, and I hope you have time to join in this week and participate in the challenge! If you upload to SCS, be sure to use the keywords ssnotime50.
For my card, I chose this card of Julie's as inspiration, and I added the red with this yummy Scenic Route paper! (Although I guess I don't follow directions very well as red really didn't end up being my primary color! Please don't call the challenge police on me, Sharon!) Here's my card...
I remember when I first saw Julie's card, I just loved that little dress! However, I must have been in a hurry and didn't take the time to look and see where it was from. Then, lo and behold my good friend Anita mentioned getting this stamp set from Gina K Designs for the store called Retro Boutique. I ordered it, it arrived and to my surprise, there was the dress! So I just had to use it for this "Julie is HOT" challenge!
Congratulations Julie, and thanks for providing such wonderful inspiration with your creations!
To see how the other Stamp Simply team members were inspired by Julie's style, check out their blogs (as well as a new sample from Her Hotness, Julie!)
Happy stamping, and thank you for stopping by!

What an adorable cardl I love the color green with the red dress combo. I guess that is either called lime or chartruese green. Made a really cute card and the stitching adds some pazazz too. Awesome. Pat

Very beautiful card! I really like the green :D - it gives the eye a place to rest and at the same time the green makes the red pop.
