Doesn't that just make you want to head for Dairy Queen? What a great new stamp set this is, just released from My Favorite Things. I'm lovin' it!
I created this card for one more try at getting to be Guest Designer for July with the team at My Favorite Things. The challenge was to use black accents on your card, including a black embellishment. My design ended up being kind of simple. The striped paper really spoke "ice cream parlor" to me, so I went with it. My black accents include the brads, the Nesties scalloped circle, the black swirled ribbon, and the black ric-rac which is a new item from Stampendous. It's part of their Class A'Peels line. And you may not notice... it's hard to tell from the photo but I used a red brad for the cherry on top!
See those perfectly spaced holes all around my circle? I made those with a great little item I received in a blog candy giveaway from the sweet Jennifer G! Jennifer learned about using plastic canvas templates for perfectly spaced holes on Melanie Muenchinger's blog. Original credit for this idea goes to Jody Morrow (aka texasjodylynn). Next time you're at Hobby Lobby, M's or Target, pick up some plastic canvas shapes! It works perfectly!
I'd like to take a moment to thank everyone for all the wonderful, awesome, superb, make-me-smile-all-the-livelong-day comments you've left me recently! I'm so blessed by how sweet you all are, and truly, truly appreciate the effort you make to let me know that you like my designs! Thank you all so very much! (My family thanks you too, because when Momma's happy... everyone's happy!)
Thanks for stopping by! Have a beautiful weekend!

Hi, Tammy!! What a scrumptious card!! It really does make me want to hit a DQ, but alas, the closest DQ is about a half hour away :( I guess I'll have to settle for the new gallon of Dreyer's ice cream in my freezer!!
