Here we are at week #16 of the Color Throwdown, and the colors this week were chosen by Cathy! This would be a nice combo to make a more masculine card if you need one, but it can pretty much go for anything! We hope you'll have time to play along!
For my card, I chose this Hero Arts stamp that has been sitting around my studio not getting any love. I stamped on Creamy Caramel cardstock using a combination of Versamark and Momento Rich Cocoa ink so that I could heat emboss with clear powder to make the images stand out more. I painted the flower with my Niji waterbrush and some Ballet Blue ink taken from the lid of the ink pad. I tore 2 edges of the Creamy Caramel cardstock and sponged on some more Rich Cocoa ink, then adhered to a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock. At Adventures in Stamping a few weeks ago, I picked up some Grungeboard, so I decided to pull it out and see if it work with this card, and I think it does really well. I was surprised at how nicely the ink took to the board. For this I just sponged on Ballet Blue, then a little more of the Rich Cocoa to distress it up a bit. My background was embossed with the Argyle Cuttlebug folder, and sponged with Old Olive ink (didn't have any Green Galore cardstock!) My last step before assembling everything was to apply a little Angel Wings Shimmerz on the flower. I decided with all the grunge and brown ink that was distressing this card that it needed a little glitz, too! I really like how it turned out!
You can check out the creations from all the Throwdown team members by going to our blog, or by checking out their individual blogs...

Also, if you are so inclined please say a prayer for LeAnne's daughter who is safe and unharmed but suffered a house fire on Monday night. You can read about it here on LeAnne's blog.
Thank you for stopping by today!

Nice card, Tammy. I had some trouble with these colors....should have "adjusted" them a bit, like you did! Love the shimmer, really adds an extra touch. Thanks for your concern about Dana; they are fine, she has a lot of laundry to do and they are trying to figure out where they will hang their hat for a little while!
