I am always on the look-out for neat gift ideas that I can use at the store to inspire my customers, so when I saw these cute Christmas candy skewers on Andrea Walford's blog a few weeks ago, I knew I had to give it a try. Especially given the fact that we have a big package of bamboo skewers that will never get used in the kitchen (I prefer metal skewers... don't like to have to soak the wooden ones!) Plus, with The Oak Cupboard right next door to the store, I knew I'd find the perfect Christmas candies to use with this!
I purchased an assortment of gummy Christmas shapes, and spiced gum drops for my skewers, and used Bo Bunny Double-Dot paper for my little Christmas tree. For my star, I ran yellow cardstock through my Xyron 150, then punched out the star shapes and applied glitter. I used "double-pretzel" cello bags that I also purchased at the Oak Cupboard in Smithville.
Instead of attempting to tell you how to make this, I will refer you to the video tutorial on Andrea's blog as it's very well done and much easier to understand than any written directions I could post here!
My daughter Kelsey and I made 5 of these in about an hour the other night that she is giving to some of her friends. I bought more candy yesterday, and she is anxious to make some more to hand out before the end of the week!
Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping! Have a great day!
