Another Kitchen Sink Monday has rolled around again, and this week Crew member Lynn McAuley is hosting the challenge! Lynn challenged all the Crew members to create a magnet for the refrigerator using a favorite quote or Scripture generated off the computer, along with our Kitchen Sink Stamps. Neat challenge, don't you think? And one I was really looking forward to doing! The challenge even inspired the butterfly frame I created last week using Jeremiah 29:11.
With Easter approaching (Ash Wednesday is this week... did anyone suddenly realize that?) I decided to use a verse for my magnet that was always very fresh in my mind growing up. The church that I was raised in, where I was baptized, confirmed and married has John 11:25 in large letters across the front of the sanctuary. In fact, to show you, here is a picture from my wedding day, April 14, 1990! (Yep, that's me in the big white dress!) Now, I don't have a scanner so please excuse my photo of a photo but you can see the verse on the wall above the altar and choir loft. (click on the photo and you might get a larger view!)
So, I decided to use this Scripture for my magnet today, along with my Bitty Tulip Bouquet stamps. I went for an antique-look with my design and decided to do cracked glass over my main image.
Be sure to check out what the rest of the Crew members designed for this challenge by clicking on their blog links below. And, we invite you to join us in this challenge, too! Upload your creation to Papercraft Planet, and tag your photo with KSCC#8 so we can pull your project into the album with all the others! Also, leave a link in the discussion for this challenge!
