*We interrupt this blog post to bring you a very important message! If your sunglasses are handy, you might want to put them on before viewing this card!*
This weeks challenge is to create a card with A MODERN EDGE to it — whatever YOU think is modern in the card making world today!!! This is totally open to your own interpretation and preferences as to what MODERN is — and I can’t WAIT to see how you all interpret this!!!! You may read the text with my card to get my interpretation of modern. One of the most fun things about challenges is to see how differently people interpret things. Given the same starting guidelines, the results always vary so much, and this should be a fun one!!!!
For my card, I just wasn't sure what modern entailed. I asked for some advice from friends, and finally decided to go searching for some inspiration. I Googled "modern decor" under images, and found this picture of a spine wall shelf and other decor. The colors really spoke to me because I knew I had some designer papers with those colors. So here's my card, and remember... I warned you! Put on some shades!

I even spared you a little bit on the brightness factor! I originally had the same yellow from the main image as the background too, but decided to switch it to white instead. It was too much! You can see that I took some inspiration from the shelves by placing the black strips in the background, the outline-artwork on the wall is reflected with my simply stamped image from Gina K Designs, and I added the touch of green from the bowl with the oval sentiment. So, if you need a little help in creating something modern today, try doing a little search for an inspiration piece!
