Just Rite Teacher Cookie Basket

The PTO at my daughter Kelsey's school provides a birthday treat for the staff each month to celebrate, and this month was my turn!  My daughter Kaylie made this batch of Peanut Butter Oatmeal cookies for me last night, and I made up the basket and card.  The basket is just an apple orchard basket, and worked perfectly for this!  I simply cut apart a brown paper bag, and covered the box.  Then I applied some designer paper that matched what I used on the card, and added the jumbo rick rack.  (Hopefully someone will decide to take the basket home, and it won't end up in the trash!)  Then I pulled out my Just Rite Stampers to personalize the basket and card. 

I also got to use another of my new Nestabilities, the Labels One, and used my Distressed Stripes Cuttlebug folder on the brown strip in the background.  My card is also very loosely based on Julee Tillman's Mojo Monday sketch.

Caramel Apple Kit

For my New Product Showcase at the store last week, I wanted to create a few projects for displays.  When I saw this Caramel Apple Kit several weeks ago on Michelle Wooderson's blog, I knew I was going to have to create my own version of it for the Showcase.

Inside this little pail is a pretty fall apple, and a little individual serving of caramel apple dip!  YUM!  I LOVE that stuff!  We could buy that in bulk at my house this time of year!

For the pail topper, I used the Baking Stamp Ensemble from Just Rite Stampers, and to make the "Caramel Apple Kit" words, I used the small letter set.  This apple stamp from Kim Hughes' Making the Grade stamp set from Cornish Heritage Farms was perfect for this project, and the words fit perfectly inside it!

 

I used the Nestabilities to cut out the scallops and circles for the lid of the pail, and used Bazzill cardstock and papers from Scribble Scrabble.  (Sorry for the blurry picture on this one... just couldn't get the camera to cooperate with me!)

This was so fun to make, and I'm sure thankful for all the cute ideas Michelle comes up with on her blog, as this was a perfect display item on Thursday night!

Hot Cocoa Treat holder measurements

Many of you left comments or sent emails asking for measurements on this project I posted over the weekend.  I know you were probably thinking I'd never get around to it, but Ta-Dah, here it is!

Now, my packet of hot cocoa measures (approximately) 6 1/2" long by 2 5/8" wide.  You may have to adjust measurements for the size of what you choose to use, but if you can do that then almost anything goes for what you can put in here!

I cut a piece of cardstock for the folder 6 1/2" wide by 7" tall.  I scored along the short side at 3" and 3 1/2" to make the "spine" of the folder.

 

The little box to hold the cocoa packet was cut 3 1/2" wide by 2 1/2" tall.  I scored the edges on 3 sides at 1/4" and 1/2".  Then I cut away the squares at the bottom two corners, and folded up the sides to create the little box to hold the cocoa.  (See succession of photos below.  You can click on the pictures for larger views.)

     

I trimmed some 1/4" red line tape to apply to the edges of the box and adhere to the folder, then decorated as desired!

I hope this helps you out!  Remember, I got the inspiration from this design from Laurie Schmidlin, however I have no idea if my measurements and design are the same as hers.

Just Rite Hot Cocoa treat

My New Product Showcase at the store on Thursday night was a huge success, and a lot of fun!  If you'd like to see some pictures from the evening you can check out the Toyrifix blog!  I'll also be posting pictures soon of the projects that were made.

One of the things showcased Thursday night was products from Just Rite Stampers.  On Wedneday, I pulled out an old display rack and set up all the new products on it.  On the top of the display there were some slots on each side where you can insert pictures, or a logo or something.  Well, I didn't want to leave those areas the way they were because they actually had permanent logos from toy company that the display originally came from.  I wanted to get a logo that I could print off from Just Rite Stampers but that didn't work out.  So I made a phone call on Thursday morning and got to talk to the Queen of Stamp Simply, Sharon Johnson!  Sharon was so nice and agreed to let me use images of her work from her blog to add to the display and took the time to email me the pictures because I was having trouble printing directly from the blog.  So here are some pictures of how nice the display looks now, adorned with Sharon's gorgeous designs!

 

 

The display is a little more "bare" now because a lof of the items got sold out, but it has more samples on it now because of what was made during the demonstrations!

I wanted to help out a little with some ideas to display for the showcase on Thursday night, and while blog browsing last week I found some gorgeous inspiration!  Check out this sweet Sparkly Hot Cocoa Holder I found on Laurie Schmidlin's blog!  Isn't it adorable?  I just love all the sparkle she added and those sweet colors!  So I CASE'd her little folder design and came up with this!

 

As soon as I have time, I'll post measurements for anyone who wants to give this a try!  I don't know if I designed mine with quite the same measurements as Laurie's but this is what worked for me!  The papers I used are from My Mind's Eye and the cardstock is all Bazzill.  The Hot Cocoa stamp is of course, from Just Rite Stampers!  If I'd had a little more time, I would have done some paper piecing on the mug but had too many other details to attend to this past week in preparation for the showcase.

My Mom is visiting for the weekend, so I won't get much stamping done!  But I'll be around tomorrow evening to draw a winner for the blog candy, so stayed tuned!  And get your comment in here if you haven't yet to try and win!

Chew 'em up!

On my daughter's Varsity volleyball team, they draw names for Secret Sisters and then give each other little gifts of cheer and encouragment throughout the season on game days.  Well, today the Smithies play the Chipps (from the Chippewa schools)  And since Kaylie knows that her Secret Sister likes Fritos, this is the quick little something I came up with for her to give.  Nothing terribly original, but hopefully Katie will get a kick out of it and enjoy the Fritos!  I used my JustRite Monogram stamper to personalize the tag with the sentiment, and stamped that little volleyball stamp in a light gray for the background.  I just punched a tiny hole in the sealed strip across the top of the bag, and tied the tag on with this volleyball printed ribbon. 

As Jennifer Buck would say "EPLS!"  (Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy!)

More JustRite samples and Blog Candy!

On Tuesday I posted that yellow, green and blue baby card that I made using my new products from JustRite Stampers, remember?  And I said "stayed tuned later tonight or tomorrow and I'll show you what else I made!"  Remember?  I'm so lazy, I know!  I'm finally getting around to it today!  Here are the other items I made for the in-store demonstration with the JustRite Stampers!  (My apologies to my customers who've been waiting for these pictures!)  I was really pressed for time to prepare for this demonstration, and didn't feel like I did a very good job on these samples.  However, I sold out of everything I had in stock, and even had to sell the set of Small Letters that I used for the demo to a lady who came the next day from out of town, so I must have done something right!  :)

This is just a loaf of homemade zucchini bread, wrapped in Saran.  (I gave it away as a door prize at the demo!)  I cut strips of Cosmo Cricket paper and taped them around the loaf, and added the "From the Kitchen of" tag!  What a perfect new neighbor gift, or welcome-to-our-church gift for someone!  In fact, the rental house beside our home has been empty for awhile so I'm anxiously waiting for someone to move in so I can take them a loaf of bread with my stamped design!  (We really need someone NICE to move in there, too!  It's been a long string of really bad neighbors in that house!)

And what could be better to include with that loaf of homemade bread than a set of personalized recipe cards?  These of course, are cards for me but with that JustRite Stamper you can make some new ones in a jiffy!  I used some more of that sweet Cosmo Cricket paper to make up these cards... it's so homey-looking!  These measure 4 1/2" x 6" so they're a little bigger than a standard recipe card, but have plenty of room to write on them.

I also created a set of 10 mongrammed cards and packaged them in these clear boxes.  If I hadn't rushed myself getting ready for this demo, I could have taken the time to create a belly-band for this box, too.  I just love these clear boxes, though... what a great little gift to present to someone, and these were quick and easy to make.  Here's a sampling of some of the cards in the set.  These were made with Bazzill cardstock and designer paper from Fancy Pants.

I've been so busy lately that I didn't even notice until yesterday that my blog counter went past 100K this week!  Thank you so much to everyone who contributes to that counter climbing just a little more each week.... it makes me smile to know how many of you visit and like to see what I'm doing!  To celebrate, I would like to give someone their choice of 2 new Cuttlebug embossing folders (or an embossing border set with a new folder!)  Zucchini is always in abundance in our garden at this time of the year and since there's zucchini bread featured in this post, please tell me what your favorite recipe is that uses zucchini.  If you have time, I'd love the recipe but don't feel like you have to do that.  Of course, if you hate zucchini and your favorite thing to do with it is throw it away, then that's OK, too!  :)  Leave a comment by Sunday at 9:00 p.m. ET and I'll draw a winner using Random.org!

JustRite Baby Card

I'm doing a demo at the store today on the JustRite Monogram Stamper, so I made up this baby card to show how neat the Small Letters set is to use for super personalization!  Now my first thought when I saw the Small Letters set was that it was going to be difficult to use!  C'mon... it comes with tweezers!  I figured if I had to use tweezers with it, we just weren't going to get along!  Wrong!  Once you play with it a little bit, it's easy to use.  I was able to quickly make up this personalized card for my cousin to send with a gift for her newborn adopted son!  (To protect privacy however, I blanked out the baby's name... I hope you understand!)

CPS #74 - JustRite Stampers

The sketch challenge at Card Positioning Systems this week is being sponsored by JustRite Stampers, so I pulled my stamper out to participate this week!  As luck would have it, I saw the challenge on Sunday morning before leaving for church.  Then, during announcements at church a young lady in our congregation announced that she will be moving to North Carolina in a few weeks to begin a new teaching position!  So I decided to make her a set of monogrammed cards to take with her using this sketch.  I made 2 different sets, then packaged them in one of these great clear boxes that I have at the store, and made a "For You" belly band for the box.  I hope she'll find these useful!

Stamp Simply #37-Black & White +1

Here is my card for Sharon's Stamp Simply challenge this week!  The challenge is to make your card using black and white, and just one other accent color!  You could say that my card for this is actually a Stamp SUPER Simply card, 'cause I am just wiped out tonight and almost didn't get this done.  Seriously, this took me 5 minutes to make!  Of course, it doesn't hurt that I was privileged enough to get a JustRite Monogram stamper this week, so that made my card really easy, too!
