Tomorrow I have a class at the store called "Proud to be an American" and all the cards for this class are a patriotic-theme. I'm down to the wire and finally finished up my designs tonight! Now I'll just have to get to work early tomorrow to get all the cardstock cut and be ready by 6:00 p.m!
This first card is a variation of this oneI did a few weeks ago, and uses the cute bee image from Stampendous, along with the new Liberty paper from Scenic Route. The ric-rac is actually a new Class A'Peels from Stampendous! They're a lot of fun to use!
Stamps: Biker Bee, Bee Free (Stampendous); Cardstock: Red, Navy (Hollo's), white (The Paper Cut), designer paper (Scenic Route); Inks: Versafine Onyx Black (Tsukineko), markers (Tombow), glitter pen (Spica); Accessories: scalloped square Nestabilities (Spellbinders), star clip, red grosgrain (Creative Impressions), ric-rac (Stampendous).
This next card uses the America the Beautiful stamp set designed by Kim Hughes for Cornish Heritage Farms. I took some inspiration from this card by Kim for my design. This designer paper is from a new company I recently ordered from called Scribble Scrabble. I love how this paper indeed looks like it's been scribbled! And isn't that little eagle irresistible? Although, my husband has informed me that I didn't color him right... the head should be white, he said. I claim artist's interpretation and left it the way it is! I hope my customers will love this card and stamp set as much as I do!
Stamps: America the Beautiful (Kim Hughes Collection by Cornish Heritage Farms); Cardstock: Red (Hollo's), cream (The Paper Cut), designer paper (Scribble Scrabble); Inks: Versafine Onyx Black, Versamagic Night Sky, Red Brick (Tsukineko); Accessories: antique brads (Gary Burlin), white gel pen (Ranger), twill tape (Creative Impressions).
This next card turned out even better than I had hoped! I actually had this flag stamp just laying out on my table, and the Distressed Stripes Cuttlebug folder was laying near it, and it just struck me immediately how nicely they went together with a "stripes" theme! So here it is! The embossed stripes really do show up better IRL! This "Pledge" stamp is so neat, and easily colored with markers. The "God Bless" stamp was colored with the same red marker so it matched, then I rimmed the edge of the circle with a gold leaf pen. This beautiful navy blue satin ribbon finishes off a gorgeous card!
Stamps: Pledge, God Bless America (DRS Designs); Cardstock: navy, red (Hollo's), white (The Paper Cut); Inks: markers (Tombow); Accessories: Distressed Stripes Cuttlebug folder (ProvoCraft), circle punch (Marvy Uchida), gold leaf pen (Krylon), ribbon (craft supply).
This last card I am assuming will be everyone's absolute favorite! After all, who doesn't just adore the work of Thomas Kinkade? This new stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms is no exception to that rule. I've practically sold out of this stamp already before the class has even begun! :) I owe a huge amount of thanks to my friend Darlene for letting me play with all her Kinkade stamps, and for leading me down the path of carrying them in the store! I got complete inspiration from this card by Sherri Siemens over at SCS. (I apologize, as this card is not on her blog. It is loaded into the Fan Club Gallery at SCS, so if you are not a Fan Club member, you won't be able to view her card.) She gave me great advice too, as far as what ink and colored pencils to use! The flag is simply colored in with Prismacolor pencils, and then a Ranger white gel pen was used to highlight the white stripes and the stars. I didn't feel a sentiment was needed on this card. It would just detract from the beauty of the stamp, I think!
Stamps: Hometown Pride (Thomas Kinkade for Cornish Heritage Farms); Cardstock: red, navy (Hollo's), white (The Paper Cut); Inks: Versafine Vintage Sepia (Tsukineko), Crimson Red, Peacock Blue colored pencils (Prismacolor); Accessories: scalloped oval, standard oval Nestabilities (Spellbinders), white gel pen (Ranger).
Thanks for stopping by!
